Today, I'm sending a few of my paperbackswap books to an LJ friend, and it occurs to me that some of y'all might want some of them, too. No return swap necessary -- this is a decluttering move. If you want some of my books, here's what you do:

1) Go to my PaperbackSwap bookshelf (currently, there are 70 books there)

2) Browse through and see if you see anything you want.

3) Send me an email with the list of what you want and your snailmail address. I don't promise speedy delivery, but if you ask first, it's yours.

OPTIONAL STEPS:

4) If you see anything on my wishlist that you want to send me, cool (but not necessary in order to receive books).

5) If you want to paypal a couple of bucks to cover shipping, cool (but not necessary in order to receive books). serene@serenepages.org

Hi, sweetie,

This reminded me that you might want some of the poetry I'm giving away through BookMooch (http://www.bookmooch.com/m/inventory/kith).

Actually, what I'd really love is the Western Garden Book if you still have it to hand. And of course, anything on my list (or in my bookcases) is yours for the asking.

I looked at your wishlist, just in case I had anything you wanted (unfortunately, I don't). And I noticed that in some cases, the same book was listed 2, 3, 4 or even more times. Why would it do that? Example - An Inconvenient Truth, the book, was listed maybe 5 times. Is there a bug on their site or something?

Firecat has that Stitch & Bitch book, maybe she'd lend it to you?

I put several versions of the same book on my wishlist, because I don't care if it's paperback or hardcover and I really want the book, so if anyone lists it in any version, I'll get on the waiting list for it. If I get one version, I'll cross the rest off my wish list.

I could lend you Understanding Comics, but I would probably want it back within half a year or so.

Joyce is right that I have Stitch'n'Bitch. I'm not ready to part with it, but I can bring it to the next craft night I come to if that would help.

Oh, and if you get your hands on someone else's copy of In the Palm of Your Hand: The Poet's Portable Workshop I'd love to have a buddy to work the exercises together.

I actually have a copy of In the Palm of your Hand, but I'm always giving them away, so I was angling for a spare. This book is my most-treasured workbook. Want to start at the beginning?

Yes! In e-mail or on LJ? How often do you want to do an exercise? I'm not sure I can manage daily, but I could manage once or twice a week.

Weekly would work for me, and either email or LJ is fine -- do you have a preference? I think Steve (who doesn't even use email, or didn't the last time we spoke) would get a kick out of having the book used this way. :-)

Let's try it on LJ, maybe we can stir up some interest...so, by next Friday? So you know the author? Actually, were you the person who told me about the book? I don't remember where my copy came from.

He was my first (and second, and fourth) poetry teacher, and I took a fiction class from him, too. He's this marvelous little Buddhist Jew who was a conscientious objector during Vietnam and went to Mexico. He wouldn't let my classmates kill a bug that drifted onto the overhead projector screen, and when he talks about his wife of (forty-some-odd?) years, his face lights up with love. He's an amazing human being.

(And maybe on the book. Three of my first four published poems were written using the exercises in the book.)

I can tell from reading the book that he's an amazing human being ("For women, the problem is harder still"). I'm delighted with your description.
