The Munchkin is here. He is happy, peaceful, and affectionate. He is enjoying the birthday gift his Nana and I got him, and he is helpful and gentle. I have missed him SO much. I'm SO glad he's here. And now, the two of us will go to sleep. Oh, wait, he just zonked. Okay, *I'll* go to sleep. Right after I post about nice things recently.

Nice things recently:

[livejournal.com profile] mackenzie came over and brought yummy tomatoes and tolerated my fixation on getting mail wrapped and stamped.

[livejournal.com profile] stonebender and I spent a few hours hanging out in Berkeley today. Once again, I got too much sun. That's it. I have to start being religious about sunscreen, and buy a good sun hat and glasses. I sunburned my eyeballs again, not to mention my face. (I know that doesn't SOUND like a good thing, but basking in the sun with my sweetheart is worth it.)

My mother sent me the pot she made spaghetti sauce in all through my childhood. I am happy.

I have been working my way through the house, getting it back to a state I can live with. I cleaned all the dead plants and detritus out of one windowsill, took down and cleaned one of the over-the-sink shelves, and deep-cleaned the sink. Tomorrow, another windowsill and the icky kitchen floor.

I'm taking a break from being mean to bisexuals, and being mean to atheists for a change. 'sfun.

Mmm, Too Much Sun sounds lovely right about now. We have sun here (it was fine all day) but it's dreadfully thin and weak. Bring on summer.

That's one of the things I love about you, my dear: You're an equal-opportunity meanie.

Hurray for peace and happiness!

I put sunscreen on my face every day right after I get out of the shower. My arms, on the other hand -- a lot of times I end up running out the door with a sunscreen container in my backpack, and then putting it on while I'm sitting on the bus.

That's it no more sun for you! (joking) But we really need to figure out a way for me to do my reptilian thing while preventing you from heat stroke. I had a great, if short, time. Today I'm busily entering comics into the computer. I ran into a bunch I had no idea I owned, great fun!

Hey, are you having folks over for craft night tonight?

:-) I have shifted gears. I'm no longer in a flamewar in which I call bisexuals on their (in my view over-the-top) characterization of bi-related prejudice as systemic biphobia. Now I'm metaphorically slapping down atheists for saying that we all should believe the same thing.

Sometimes people who are like me are nothing like me.

Oh, and yes on craft night. :-)

Thank you for the explanation. I was confused, thinking, "But wait... Serene is bisexual and an atheist." :) But I guess activism begins at home!

I fully agree that many atheists can be tedious in their insistence that they have the One Truth - which isn't much different from religious fanatics, IMO. (Although the latter are more dangerous, at least right here & now.)

I heard Richard Dawkins on Fresh Air a few months ago and he really annoyed me. He's just so smug, arrogant and utterly disparaging of anyone who feels a need to follow a spiritual path. Pfui. (He's interesting from a science perspective, but really, he should stay out of theology!)

I'll have to chew on the systemic biphobia issue... although if you feel like encapsulating a few of the issues, I'd be interested. Don't bother if you're sick of that discussion, though.

See you tonight! I will probably arrive late because I have to go shopping first.

I live with militant atheists. Sometimes it drives me nuts (the smugness factor). One of them even tried to convert me - and I'm an AGNOSTIC!

There must be something more productive to do than make fun of my Rob Breszny habit, you know?
