time to breathe, sorta
Jul. 26th, 2007 07:45 amNo pun intended.
wild_irises and
loracs are trading off shifts (last
night and today). I went home and slept *seven* *whole* *hours*, during
which I only awoke a few times to make sure
someotherguy was
breathing (note to new people:
someotherguy is breathing just
fine -- it's my other partner,
stonebender, who is having
breathing difficulties).
stonebender slept five hours last night!!!!!! Yay! He did have
one pretty bad crisis, and they had to stick a tube up his nose to clear
out his lungs with, but hey, he slept after that, and that's amazingly
wonderful.
I'm at The Best Temp Job Ever, wishing I weren't. Not only do I not like
being away from
stonebender for this long, but I haven't touched
my "day job" in nearly a week, and my boss is being VERY patient, but I
have a ton of work to do and am not able to do most of it if I'm not home.
Here tomorrow, too, and then I'll have the weekend to catch up.
Right after work, I'll walk over to the hospital and spell
wild_irises, and then almost certainly spend the night there. The
next time I'll see
someotherguy is tomorrow night, at the
earliest. *sighhhhh*

Date: 2007-07-26 06:05 pm (UTC)As far as helping, any time you wanted to spend hanging out with Guy while whoever's on that shift goes to get some rest and/or a meal, that would be welcomed. He's at Alta Bates in Berkeley. I can give you more info if you do find you have time to come and visit.
We, of course, would be available on our cellphones at all times, if something happened or you had questions. Oh, and right now he's really sensitive to scents, so I'm telling everyone who visits to please avoid flowers and perfume.
*hugs* Thanks so much for caring.

Date: 2007-07-26 09:47 pm (UTC)More adult response: Any time would be fine. If you feel like coming tonight, I can go home and someone (I or someone else) will relieve you whenever you say. Otherwise, I have to leave for work by 7:30 tomorrow morning, and any time tomorrow day or night that you can come by for any amount of time would be really helpful. Tonight was my turn to spend the night, but if you want to take my turn, I will resist arguing. Tomorrow night, he'll probably still be there, so if tomorrow night is better, that'll be great.
Gifts: Card? Book? Balloon? Candy? (His faves are chocolate (especially with almonds) and See's peanut brittle, but he's not very picky.)

Date: 2007-07-27 12:47 am (UTC)Thanks for the tip regarding candy -- there's a See's store right by here, so that works out very nicely indeed. :-)
