Good news: No blood clot, no abcess; probably just garden-variety pneumonia

Bad news: Garden-variety pneumonia. Still having trouble keeping his
oxygen up, so he's unlikely to go home tomorrow

Good news: Visit and helpfulness from [livejournal.com profile] waywardcats! Balloons
from [livejournal.com profile] kalmn! A visit and peanut brittle from [livejournal.com profile] leback! A
visit and snacks from [livejournal.com profile] tracytreefrog!

Bad news: Still no word on the culture that will tell them which
antibiotic is most likely to wipe this thing the fuck out

Garden variety is good. One thing that you do not want in hospital is anything that makes the medics say 'oh, interesting ...'.

In this case boring is good.

Best wishes to you/Stonebender/other family members.

Thanks for the updates. I had missed several episodes in this drama, and have now caught up slightly. Please give my best regards for a quick recovery to [livejournal.com profile] stonebender. Also grab some hugs for yourself and pass them around to whomever might need some. I'm sure this has been very trying. I hope everyone continues to get better or do well, and you all get some sleep soon.
