Took me hours, but I got up the oomph to do the tasks I've been avoiding at work for a couple of days. Sometimes I get so frustrated, because I *KNOW* there's something not-too-difficult that needs doing, and I don't want to, and no amount of wheedling, coaxing, or begging myself makes me willing to just do it. *sigh*

Date: 2007-08-11 12:43 pm (UTC)I also have many of those other tasks that I have blocks against - sounds like your situation is similar. The worst one right now is my editing job. It takes me maybe two hours to do one edit, and I end up putting them off for weeks - which makes them very late, which makes me look very bad. Alternatively, I start one and put in an hour or so, and then don't get back to it for five days. At which point I've forgotten all the details and have to mostly start over. Arg.
What is it that causes these blocks? Anyone know of any good way to get rid of them? Plowing through them I understand (even if I rarely succeed in doing so), but actually eliminating the block would be heaven.

Date: 2007-08-11 09:54 am (UTC)It's so freaking simple if I keep up with it, but I just can't make myself do it. Trying to remember WTF my cryptic notes mean 2 weeks after the fact is so not fun.

Date: 2007-08-13 03:10 am (UTC)This morning's big thing was lounging around in bed for an hour and a half after everyone else had gotten up and when I really wanted to be down there being social because I couldn't make myself take my shower. However, in terms of things like tasks and projects, yes. Especially at work, but also cleaning the house and so on frequently.
