[Newer Edit: Oh, whew. Never mind. They're open on the weekends after Labor Day. I almost had a heart attack. And [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy, your "Oh, well" put you high on my shit list. :-)]

[Edit: AAAACCCCCKKKKK!!!! The season ends September 3rd??? What kind of cruel cosmic joke is this???? Where I come from, things don't close for the winter! Where I come from, we don't DO winter! Foiled! Curses!!!]

I can only assume that I have not been clear enough (and by "clear enough", I mean "so crystal-clear your head spins") about my love of rollercoasters.

Because if I had been clear enough, it would mean that all of you Bay Area people have known for the three and a half years I've lived here that there is an amusement park *twenty-five miles from my house* and weren't telling me out of sheer meanness.

Fifty bucks buys SIX visits! This is the Month O'Solitude, and y'all have betrayed me by withholding this vital info from me for so long, but who's up for making it up to me with some October Rollercoaster fun? ([livejournal.com profile] textivore has first dibs on picking a date.)

I would gladly come along but no one gets me on a rollercoaster. I shall take many pictures of you and other crazy people rollercoaster riders. From the ground. You know, the bit that doesn't move (except when there's an earthquake, of course!)?

It's a deal! I think I'm gonna buy a season ticket. You can be my "and one guest" whenever you want. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] someotherguy says he'd be happy to keep you company on the ground.

Just saw your edit. Big Six pass is good through Oct 28th?

It's Rollercoaster Fever, baybee. It does strange things to a person!

If there is one thing in this world that may hold the power to inspire me to lose weight, it is the fact that I am too large for rollercoasters anymore.

:-( I don't fit in all of them, but I'm lucky to have a long/tall profile rather than a short/round one. I think [livejournal.com profile] sogwife can't fit on a lot of them, and I weigh more than she does.

One of the most exciting things about my recent weight loss was being able to fit on roller coasters and other rides again, which I hadn't been able to for 20 years. I got myself a six flags season pass this year. Unfortunately the way things worked out I only got to go once. But it was heavenly.

Hey, Serene, I can get you in free as a guest on my season pass. Just gotta find a way to get to your area. LOL

I do think I'm gonna get the season pass, though. It's an even better deal than the 6-for-49 thing, and did I mention that I *really* *like* *rollercoasters*? :-)

Sweetie, *I* didn't know you cared at all about roller coasters. Now, I may not be the Most Observant Person In The World (tm), but I think I would have noticed if it had come up while I was around, because I love them, too. Problem is, the ones I can afford to visit occasionally (like at traveling carnivals) aren't made for fat people. The safety bars don't fit me. :( Do you really think you weigh more than me? (Scratches head.)

I think that we might have had this conversation a long time ago. No matter. It's not actually deeply important to me, I just like 'em a lot. :-)

As for how much I weigh, probably around 320. Wait, I'll go look. :-)

Yep. 323 with dress and shoes on. :-)

A weekend trip. :) Perhaps a vacation next year.

I'm not a roller-coaster person myself, but I have friends who swear by that 120MPH drop...

Ummm, unlikely unless you were Vintage Ballroom Dancing on Friday. I didn't make it to [livejournal.com profile] mackenzie's party, but I was at PEERS.

It seems like your feelings on this have gone for a bit of a rollercoaster ride, what with all the edits and new information coming in.

Does that help sate your rollercoaster fever?

Oh,...um...I don't know if you're aware of this, Girlness, but that particular Six Flags is also an animals-in-captivity place. Used to be a Marine World.

I also *heart* coasters, but I doubt I will make it to your neck of the woods in October, and if I do, I suspect I will largely be otherwise occupied, as the availability of said other occupation would be my reason for the jaunt.

Well, if the other occupation loves rollercoasters, you know how to find me. :-)
