Thanks to
kightp for the pointer to OneWebDay.
On July 11, 1998, I got my first net connection. The next day, I met my first love, and began my love affair with the internet.
I live with someone I met online. The other person I'm in love with, likewise. I learned how to talk and think about my sexuality and my social life online.
Recently, someone posted a link on OKCupid about a study that said people are having less sex now because they're too busy online. I responded as follows:
I am a better friend, a better cook, a better lover, and a better person because of the internet. Long may it be a positive influence in my life, and in yours.

I doubt I'd be having any sex at all if it weren't for the internet. I met both of my partners online, and at least 90% of my in-person friends and flirtbuddies are people I met in one online venue or another. My social life was a big fat zero before I got hooked up with my first net connection.I love looking things up, and the internet makes that easy and fun.
I am a better friend, a better cook, a better lover, and a better person because of the internet. Long may it be a positive influence in my life, and in yours.
