loracs is home from the hospital. She's asleep right now. I'm making bean soup with smoked turkey legs for her to have around (she's supposed to keep the fat low for a while, while her body gets used to the new setup), and we'll have potatoes and chickpea gravy and broccoli for dinner. I had intended to go home and come back at bedtime, but (1) I feel like on her first day home if she wants anything fetched, I want to fetch it for her, and (2) if I go home now, it's going to take more energy than I have to come back tonight at bedtime.

I miss my home, but I'm so happy that I am able to be some help to loracs, who has been amazing to me for almost five years. I'm so relieved that the surgery went well.

she is our honey bunny and it has been a privilege to be able to give back to her during this episode. but don't tell her I said that because she'd just say pshaw.

My gallbladder surgery was a breeze compared to HAVING a gallbladder. I still have to be careful about my fat intake, but I don't miss that organ, believe me. :-)
