Oct. 26th, 2007 01:28 amJello mold is made.
Bread is rising.
Pumpkin is peeled and cut into chunks.
Tomorrow: Bake bread, make spinach dip, make pumpkin soup, make serving bowl out of the other pumpkin, make severed-finger cookies, make kettle corn.
All this assumes I'll be well tomorrow. I hope hope hope I am well tomorrow.

Date: 2007-10-26 06:18 pm (UTC)On the soup, I never use a recipe. I just cook onions and celery in butter and/or olive oil, then add pumpkin (and, optionally, potatoes) and some sort of liquid, bring it to a boil, and simmer it for an hour or so. Today, I'm making a Thai curry version, so it will be homemade chicken stock, a little fish sauce, some coconut milk, ginger, garlic, lime leaves, and a little shrimp paste. Last time, it was pumpkin, potatoes, vegetable broth, salt, pepper, and a bay leaf. It was the most-commented-on thing at that Thanksgiving dinner after the turkey.
