Still ouchy, still tired, but feeling a lot better today. Did some contract work for a while and caught up on alt.poly, but now I'm gonna goof off and fill out a survey, 'cause, well, I wanna.

1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
Usually the electric bill, because it's so high.

2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
I don't remember, but I don't really classify dinners as romantic or non-romantic. It's been a lonnnnnnng time since I went to a fancy restaurant with a partner, if that's what this is asking.

3. Do you regret losing your virginity to who you lost it to?
No, not really. If I'd had a better prospect at the time, I might have chosen someone else, but my first sex partner was nice and fun and adventurous, and it worked out.

4. If you could go back and change one thing what would it be?
I start to hyperventilate when I think too hard about this. I am always worried about unexpected bad consequences in these thought experiments.

5. Name of your first grade teacher?
Mrs. Smiles.

6. What do you really want to be doing right now?
I'm doing it.

7. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A singer. Never anything else.

8. How many colleges did you attend?
Four? Five? Something like that.

9. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
I'm nekkid.

10. What are your thoughts on gas prices?
They're not high enough, in general. I would vote for their being higher, especially if there were subsidies for low-income people to make sure that high gas prices weren't harder than is fair on them.

11. If you could move anywhere and take someone with you where would it be?
I don't wanna. I like it here. If I could move [livejournal.com profile] stonebender to Berkeley, though, that'd be cool.

12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
It wasn't my alarm, so I wondered if I should turn it off or let him sleep (I'd been up for an hour or so already).

13. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
I don't remember; I remember [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy coming in to snuggle me and turn out the light, and I remember thinking their grilled-cheese sandwiches smelled good.

14. Favorite underwear?
On me? A black lace camisole I like.

15. How many windows are open on your computer?
Opera (this one); Thunderbird (for mail/news); Windows Live Messenger (currently appearing offline); Internet Explorer (where [livejournal.com profile] serenecooking is logged on).

16. What errand/chore do you despise?
Anything that requires a lot of bending and stooping.

17. If you didn't have to work, would you volunteer?
Yes, and I always have when I wasn't working.

18. Get up early or sleep in?
It varies wildly.

19. What is your favorite cartoon character?
Hmmmm. Maleficent, I think.

20. Favorite thing to do at night with a girl/guy?
Which night? Which girl/guy? Why are people who aren't girls/guys included in this question?

21. Have you found real love yet?
Yes, several times.

22. When did you first start feeling old?
I remember the first time I *thought* "I'm getting old" -- when they were interviewing college students who hadn't been born yet when the first Star Wars came out (I watched it at the drive-in). But I don't really feel old yet, and I often think I feel younger now than I did when I was young. My body, on the other hand, behaves like an old person's these days.

23. Favorite 80's movie?
No clue. I'd have to look at a list of them.

24. Your favorite lunch meat?
Probably salami, but I'm pretty indiscriminate, and like most processed meats.

25. What do you get every time you go into Costco?
There's nothing I get *every* time, but most times, I get butter and sweet peppers.

26. Beach or lake?
Either. I've been a little wary of the ocean since I was stung by a stingray, even though I think that's silly.

27. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
As opposed to what? A newfangled ritual? Yeah, I guess so. So?

28. Do you own property?
Not really. I mean, I have some belongings, but no houses or lands. I will share in inheriting my mother's house when she dies, but I don't look forward to that.

29. Favorite guilty pleasure?
I don't feel guilty about pleasure.

30. Favorite movie you wouldn't want anyone to find out about?
Why wouldn't I want anyone to find out about any of them? The one that might be most embarrassing is a baaaaaaaad porn flick called "Talk Dirty To Me" that I saw just at the right time in adolescence to imprint it on my brain.

31. What's your drink?
Water, and lots of it.

32. Cowboys or Indians?
?

33. Cops or robbers?
?

34. Who from high school would you like to run in to?
No one.

35. What radio station is your car radio tuned to right now?
Either KQED or KFOG.

36. Norm or Cliff?
I had a total crush on Norm.

37. 'The Cosby Show' or 'The Simpsons'?
I liked them both.

38. Worst relationship mistake that you wish you could take back?
Sleeping with someone that TOTGA hated without telling him first.

39. Do you like the person that sits directly across from you at work?
More than I've ever liked any co-worker before, ever. ([livejournal.com profile] someotherguy)

40. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
No, thanks.

41. Indoors or outdoors?
Depends on my mood.

42. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
Yep.

43. Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
No.

44. Last book you read?
Currently reading a few: Fraud, Housekeeping vs. The Dirt, The New McDougall Cookbook. I don't remember the last book I finished.

45. Do you have a teddy bear?
Not unless you count [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy, but he's really [livejournal.com profile] sogwife's teddy bear, not mine.

46. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
In a wild bird reserve in Tokyo.

47. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?
The Winchester Mystery House.

48. Do you go to church?
No, except for weddings and funerals and such.

49. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
Neither. I'm enjoying the stability of my life right now.

50. How old are you? 41

1) My defaults are KQED/KFOG, too. I've been listening to KFOG since its first day on air, and my favorite DJ has been Dave Morey ever since then.

2) [livejournal.com profile] joedecker and I recently realized we saw Star Wars in the same theater, in the same month -- maybe the same week -- when it was released.

Your first-grade teacher really was named Mrs. Smiles? That is too cool!

I think the emphasis on #27 is on "outdated," i.e. is marriage irrelevant and/or obsolete in today's society.

As usual, I will probably steal these for my LJ.
