• Got the tape "stitches" off today. The wound looks good. The doc said the swelling is more than normal, but it'll calm down eventually.
  
• He also gave me a copy of the pathology report so I can go do research on the web. loracs taught me that. :-)
  
• Haven't felt very sexy since my surgery, so I've been wearing my cutest clothes, and it has been helping. However, nothing as much as tonight, when I'm wandering around in a skimpy tank top and my boyfriend's pajama bottoms. Happy.
  
• Big good news on the mom front: She doesn't have cancer, or an obstruction, or anything yucky like that. She has a bacterial infection that she's probably had for decades. It was probably responsible for all the ulcers she had when she was younger, for which they took out half her stomach. They're gonna give her some massive antibiotics that will make her sick for a week, and after that she should be fine. Praise Medicine! (I only wish she would have had this checked years ago when I told her about the new research about ulcers, but better late than never.)
  
• The niblings have been sounding pretty happy lately, yay. I shall remember to call them a few times tomorrow to try to help them through the inevitable Family Holiday Fiasco.
  
• I'm tired. Tired, but really happy.
  
• New Pie Man tonight! (Pushing Daisies, my second-favorite show.)

I ran across the staples picture by accident while looking at your flickr pictures, and immediately thought "Halloween" before realizing what it was -- I'm glad it's healing well, and hope the swelling normalizes quickly as well!

Great news about your mother -- I wonder if other things will improve for her as well once she's not fighting an infection all the time.
