Serene of the Oakland Serenes

I'm guessing my posting/commenting will be less prolific until I can type
with both hands. Takes so long this way.

Wonderful party yesterday. I will post pics tonight. I usually throw my
own parties, so it was such a fun luxury to have this. loracs
went all out, too -- decorations, party favors, a game, and a gourmet
feast replete with colorful veggies!

Menu (I may forget some bits)

appetizers (pizzelle cookies, peanut butter cups, fresh figs from their
tree, grapes, crackers w/tracytreefrog's dip)
sparkling juices -- pomegranate, cranberry, blueberry -- along w/other drinks
vegan potato-leek soup w/a touch of lemongrass
roasted cherry tomatoes
salad of baby plum tomatoes & baby mozzarella balls
sogwife's veggie-and-almond salad
roasted red peppers
huge tray of other roasted veggies: corn, portabellas, squash, beets,
parsnips, carrots, onions, eggplant
salmon -- I took a little taste, and it was the best I've ever had
dessert was homemade whole-wheat berry cobbler with choice of soy ice
cream, real ice cream, or cool whip
Oh, and my favorite gummy candies, because loracs wubs me

Tonight: This Film Is Not Yet Rated at the Shattuck Cinema in Berkeley. 7:25 showing, meet up at 7 if you wanna come. (Meet up with me and sogwife at 5:15 at Tully's if you wanna go get dinner first -- we haven't yet decided where to eat, but we both work within blocks of the theater, so we decided not to go home before the show.)

Tomorrow: Laundry

Saturday: A friend's party in the city -- I never go to the city, so that tells you how much I adore this friend.

Sunday: Date with stonebender. We will not be attending Folsom.

Next Thursday, 9/28: Dinner at my place with dryadgrl (and, I assume, her family)

Saturday, 9/30: rmjwell/RA's party

Sunday, 10/1: Family dinner at stonebender's place for my b'day

Busier than usual, but still only one thing a day, right? :-)

So far, I've snagged some talent for the weekly reading. Some are new faces to me (I snagged them at readings and asked them to come help launch the thing), and some are old favorites. I want to thank them all for consenting to help bring more spoken word to Oakland.
