A couple more details on my not-a-heart-attack yesterday: The neuritis was apparently an artifact of the injury from my thyroid incision. The doctor's exact words were, "The good news is it's not your heart. Still, don't ignore this. If it happens again and lasts longer than ten minutes or so, call an advice nurse." So I'm a little less embarrassed than if it had just been gas or something, but I'd rather be embarrassed than dead any day, so no big deal.

*thoughts* Pete thought he was having a heart attack at work one day and scared coworkers so much that they called an ambulance. Turned out to be his esophagus freaking out from mild food poisoning. He was terrified, as was I.

Very scary when your body does scary things like that. I remember after one surgery my belly was moving by itself. Scared I called the Doc he said "oh that is just adhesion's that usually happens on surgeries like yours". No biggie but would have been nice to know that in advance instead of freaking me out.
