1. If a movie was made of your life, which famous actors/actress or otherwise well-known celebrity would most appropriately be cast to play yourself, your immediate family and 5 good friends?
Me: Kathy Najimi (when she was fat)
Cute-poet-chick: Roseanne (when she was fat)
The munchkins: Young versions of Charlie Sheen and Eliza Dushku
My mom: Lena Horne
2. Let's say "The Powers That Be" offer you a chance to transfer 'you', your mind/personality/experience/knowledge/skills/maturity/etc to a younger time of yourself. The full 'Karmic Transfer' to younger time of 'you'. Would you do it? What age?
Yes. 15.
3. According to unconfirmed sources, this is one of the formulas to concatenate your secret Porn Star name: First name: The name of your first pet. Last name: Your real middle name. What is it?
Heidi Joan
4. If you knew and could not change the exact moment of your death but could choose the manner and circumstances, what would they be?
Awake, aware, in no pain, and of old age.
5. Let's assume human kind has vanished from the planet (migrate out into space, died out, transcended, killed each other off, whatever). A new sentient life is foretold to evolve out of the remaining species. Which one would you choose if the choice was yours to make?
Dolphins.
6. From science fiction shlock, what sci-fi technology would you have made real and available to humanity (if any)?
The teleporter, by a mile
7. Which one would you have never become manifest (if any)?
Time travel
8. You've been imprisoned in a pocket dimension that takes its motif/themes from a painting. Which painting is it gonna be?
I don't know, but Georges Seurat's Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of Grande Jatte (1884-1886) comes to mind.
Oops, work beckons. More later.
9. Circe the island sorceress has captured you and is going to turn you into an animal. You'll retain your sentience and intelligence, but you will be stuck in the animal shape for the rest of your life. You get to choose the animal. What'll it be?
10. She changed her mind. Now it's going to be a musical instrument but you still get to pick. What'll it be?
11. Name your all time favorite fictional villain/bad guy.
12. Favorite fictional hero/protagonist?
13. You are fated to only eat one type of cuisine for the rest of your life. What's it gonna be?
14. You are given one evening of dinner and conversation with one person from history. Who will it be?
15. One weekend of wild monkey sex with the celebrity of your choice. For fantasy's sake, the circumstances and time frame in your life has/had it occur in a period in which such a deed doesn't mess with any relationships. It's an ideal fantasy scenario. Who is it?
16. If you could pick one significant event in history and change it what would it be?
17. What is your dream job scenario?
18. You've got the chance to have your portrait done by any painter in history. Who will it be?
19. The Force is strong with you. What are the chances the Dark Side will dominate your destiny?
20. Tell us of an accomplishment in your life that you are proud of.

Date: 2002-10-11 09:23 am (UTC)I'm not really a member of the "oooh, Alan Rickman!!!" club, though part of the reason for picking him would be to make a shameless bid for that constituency. I did like him in the three movies I've seen him in, though -- Galaxy Quest, Dogma and Harry Potter -- three unconventional male roles that definitely let him chew up the scenery, express emotions and get good use out of his fine voice and face. If he played a totally conventional leading man in a totally conventional movie, though, I probably wouldn't be interested

Mind you, I think I'd go for bonobos on the sentience thing. But dolphins are also cool and smart. Maybe bonobos _and_ dolphins. (Gah! See what I mean?)

Re: unrelated but in need
Date: 2002-10-11 10:40 am (UTC)Check out this link for the twice-monthly slams:
http://sandiegoslam.tripod.com
There are readings all around town almost every day of the week. There's a jam-packed open at Claire de Lune on Tuesdays, http://www.clairedelune.com
Poets/performance twice-monthly readings are run by Robt, who runs the slam. I think their website is still http://poetryscenestealers.tripod.com but I may be wrong. You can email robt from the sandiegoslam.tripod.com page, and he'll hook you up.
There's an open on Wednesdays, I believe, at The Other Side in North Park -- call them to confirm -- Oh, and you can pick up the Poetry Conspiracy for a buck or two there, and it has nearly every reading in town listed. There are other places to pick up the Poetry Conspiracy, but that's where I get it when I do.
Twiggs has open readings on Mondays and open mic on Wednesdays: http://twiggs.org/green.html
Often, readings will be announced at http://www.sdreader.com/ed/calendar/ev/PERSON.HTM and you can search http://www.sandiegowriters.org for others
And lots, lots more. I've been away from the scene for a while, but I'll be sure to post anything else I hear about or attend.
