Just so you know, chubbycore rocks. In my first year here, without ever meeting her, I have been the recipient of her generosity several times. I have a new plant. I have new clothes! I have patterns for more new clothes. I am so lucky to have such people in my life.

Summer cold be damned; having a great day. Wish I could stay at the cool
job, but maybe I'll come back some time to relieve their regular
receptionist. The day is gorgeous, it's almost lunchtime, and I have

I occasionally get what I will call "fan mail" as a result of my LJ, my website, my Usenet posts, or something I've written on a listserv somewhere. This is my response to the latest one.

I have to say that you and I are in agreement. Being out about my sexual orientation and relationship status does not require that I wave my genitals in people's faces. In fact, I don't need an excuse to wave my genitals in people's faces: I do it for fun.

Seriously, though, my letting people know I'm bi and poly is no more about my genitals than your being married with children is about yours.

When people ask if you're married, do you tell them to mind their business and stop asking personal questions about your sex life? Do you keep a picture of your wife and kids on your desk? Do you wear a wedding ring or ever start a sentence with "My wife and I..."? I mean, I know you do, because you did in this email, but I mean in conversation.

At any rate, my genitals and I agree with you, and my cunt waves you a cheerful goodbye.
