Whew.

Trained at Ikea Monday. Flew to San Diego Tuesday. Flew back Thursday. Worked Friday through yesterday. Today is my day off at Ikea, and UC Berkeley needs me for the day, so it will be at least a seven-day work week, and possibly as much as twelve (I'm scheduled at Ikea tomorrow and Thursday, and off Friday, but UC Berkeley may call me then, too). I'm actually pretty happy. We need the money pretty badly, and I *love* the job at UC Berkeley, so I'm happy to be heading there.

In other not-exactly-news: things are going fairly well for the munchkins' family; my partners are being, as always, really sweet to me; I saved forty-five whole cents with my Ikea discount; and I walked so much yesterday that I blew out my Birkenstock.

OH! And I have a few actual tomatoes (tiny though they may be) on my huge plant, which gives me no end of joy.

I sure wish this job would become available. It's one of the best temp assignments I've ever had, and I've had some good ones.

mommaduck (my mom) really came through for me this week. Thanks, mom!

And in other parental news, my dad sent me a sweet note in response to my father's day note. I have given up on ever having a close relationship with him, but I'm glad we can still be civil or better, depending on the circumstance. Well, no, that's not true. Last time we spoke, he was anything but civil to me, but I don't expect a perfect track record from anyone.

time

Time is so precious these days. I literally have an hour or so of free
time per day these days, and I find that I kind of like it. My mind is
busy, my body is busy (and ouchy, but that should pass), and I like being
busy.

However, I really really really miss my sweeties. I'm not really used to
spending this much time away from them. I'll be fine, and they'll be
fine, and there's no real relationship drama because of this, but I miss
'em, is all.

joys

Some joys in my life lately, big and small. Some of them I've talked
about before, but I wanted to put them all in one place.

1. I managed to get a job with benefits.
2. Chatted with TOTGA for a
   while the other day, and zie made me smile so much. It was very
   old-times-y, in a good way.

   job.
5. The Munchkins are holding up in a really hard situation
6. I spend
   every single day around people who like and care about me.
7. Money is
   tight, but I have resources when that happens. I don't take that for
   granted.
8. Some emotional garbage I went through in May and earlier this
   month seems to have been laid to rest. Hallelujah!
