...stayed up until 3 in the morning (watching Coupling with [livejournal.com profile] sogwife, then giggling ourselves to sleep). My boss at UC Berkeley called a little bit ago. They need me today and possibly tomorrow. I love it there and I need the money, so I'm going, but I could've used the days off. Wow, I'm really gonna sleep tonight.

on my way out today, to [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy: "And don't feel guilty
that you get to sleep for a few more hours while the girl and I go make a
living."

Him: "Okay. *snorrrre*"

*sigh* I don't do so well on this evil-bastard thing. [livejournal.com profile] rmjwell
should give me lessons.

My webmail is down, and I have to post from the web instead of in email. I'm such a spoiled brat.

Love being here at UC Berkeley (which I always called "Berkeley" before I moved here, but now when I say "I went to Berkeley today," no one assumes I mean the school). The people are so nice, the job is cushy, and the money is good. Now I wish I could do this all the time, but it doesn't look to be imminent. I've told my service I'm available for a regular gig, but part of me wants to just do Ikea and free myself up for this thing. And on the gripping hand, I should look for a "real" job. I dunno. I guess I'll just let myself off the hook about it this week, what with working 50 hours and all.

Confidential to [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy (because my webmail is still down): If someone should happen to show up here between noon and 1 with a sammich or somethin', a person might be grateful and stuff.

yay!

[Edit: Well, not so much. Oh, well.]

Went to let my mom buy me some lunch (she gave me a credit card for those
out-of-money moments, and until I get paid tomorrow night, those are all
the moments I have). On the way there, saw a man helping a woman across
the intersection. She was short of breath and her feet felt funny -- she
lived in the building on the corner, but couldn't even walk that far. I
went into the Gap (or something) and called 911, then went out, made her
sit on the ground, and waited with her and the man, who was her bewildered
partner, who had been trying to get her home (they live in the Gap
building) so he could research a doctor on the web. There wasn't time for
that. The paramedics came as she got a case of the chills. I hope she's
okay.

Then I went and had a swiss/mushroom/tomato crepe at Crepes-a-gogo, and it
was fine. The glass of carrot juice I had with it was better. I like the
idea of savory crepes, but had never had one before. It would probably be
even better with fresh crepes, rather than pre-made.

After work, [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy is gonna pick me up and we're gonna go
buy veggies for dinner. [livejournal.com profile] tenacious_snail plans to drop by, and I
plan to make my wheatberry salad and some salmon and roasted veggies.

...since I heard "cocksucker" used as an insult

Oh, good lord. [livejournal.com profile] final_girl, you are a sick fuck. I love that in a person.

that was a typo, but I'm leaving it. My 55-hour workweek just hit me
hard. I'll get a second wind, but meanwhile, *zonnnnnk*. A little over an
hour left of work, and then some time with my boy and some food/caffeine
should tide me over until bedtime.

...I figgered out my hours for the week. Six days of work, 50.5 hours.
That's 8.42 hours a day on average. I'm ready for a break.

The dilemma is that I am pretty determined to be available for UCB when
they call. It may be doable without exhaustion once my reduced-hours
schedule starts at Ikea next week. Meanwhile, I'll hang in there. The
money is good and I love it here, and they love me.

Tiiiiiiired.

Okay, that's the last you'll hear me whining about how tired I am. It's
not like I have no power to change it if I really wanna.
