[No Bay Area filter -- if you're not gonna be in the Bay Area on Oscar night, please skip this.]

We liked our little, low-key Oscar party last year. We're gonna do it again. So go print yourself a ballot, if you want, come over on the 5th of March (Sunday) around 4, and join the festivities. We will have snacks and a big-screen TV. Feel free to bring anything you want. The show starts at 5, but we will have the pre-show on for your mocking enjoyment. Party ends when people go home or we kick everyone out to get some sleep already! Last year's joys included popcorn, nachos, and watching Serene drool over Adam Duritz. This year, there will be a prize for the person with the best guesses -- ballots have to be turned in by 5pm.

Come join the fun!

RSVP in email if you want directions to [livejournal.com profile] stonebender's place (in San Leandro).

I don't want a killfile for LJ, as some people have wished for. What I want is a magical tool that will make me unable to see posts/comments that meet any of the following criteria:

1) diet talk
2) "it's not a diet, it's a new way of eating" talk
3) off-topic community posts (no matter which community)
4) "I'm not dieting, I'm just watching what I eat" talk
5) posts in which the poster assigns some negative moral value to wanting to eat any particular item of food
6) Long rants/long surveys/elaborate dreams/other longass shit that's not cut-tagged
7) Did I mention diet talk?

If you post any of this stuff, I'm not saying you shouldn't, or that you should care that I don't want to read it. I just wish I had a magic wand that would make it not show up on my screen.

Went to coffee with [livejournal.com profile] pure_agnostic and his adorable five-year-old -- they had some dinner while we played. We built many vehicles and towers from my PowerRings. We built little people (a queen and some workers) from PowerRings and Play-Doh. They had pink heads, green hair, and yellow smiles/eyes/noses. Their noses fell off a lot. We laughed at her silly dad. We talked about our legs and dancing and all the places we've been -- I haven't been quite as far as she has.

It was nice.
