In 8 minutes, the first batch of peanut butter cookies (the flourless ones from [livejournal.com profile] eeyore_grrl, of course) will come out of the oven. Already made hummus. Will stuff mushrooms later. (Some local poly people are starting a twice-monthly D&D game, and [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy and [livejournal.com profile] sogwife are playing. We're hosting, which basically means I'll be Official Snack Wench. My mom will be here in a few hours, and she can be Second Chair Snack Wench, and then we're off to [livejournal.com profile] stonebender's place to visit and spend the night.)

Now to try to make my house at least visitable. This pile of junk next to my desk will be first to go. Now I remember why people who work full-time have so much trouble getting things done.

Have a lovely weekend, all.

Sounds like you're going to have a lot of fun! Cut yourself some slack. Your mom will love you no matter what your home looks like.

Are you kidding? She raves about those cookies even when you're not around!

I gather it's flour-free? I seem to have recently found a need for flour-free cookie recipes, so I'd be interested if you could post a pointer to it or such.

1 cup peanut butter (seems to work best with the processed stuff, not the natural stuff)
1 cup sugar
1 egg

That's it. Really. Mix it all together, make balls out of it, press them down with a fork in that special cross-hatch-peanut-butter-cookie way, and bake them in a preheated (375F) oven for 8 minutes. They'll still be pale when you take them out, but do it anyway. They end up paler than normal cookies, but if you leave them longer, they'll burn badly.

Have fun! I made some peanut-butter cookies (http://pyrzqxgl.livejournal.com/89711.html) recently myself.
