I'm not freaking out at this point, but my mom's in the hospital with sick
sinus syndrome. They're taking her to the Kaiser emergency room. She
may need a pacemaker. I'll know more later. My sister is really doing a
great job -- she can pull it together in an emergency. My aunt (my mom's
sister and lifelong best friend) is totally freaking, but I think i calmed
her down.

Yep, thanks. Doing fine. Getting a minor case of contact anxiety from talking to anxious people on the phone, but medical emergencies have been part of my life all my life, so I am not too thrown by them. When it's over, I'll probably crash, but for now, I'm okay.

I am glad you were able to calm your Aunt down. I too have been party to a number of medical emergencies and as you know panicking slowly is always best. However, I know that is easier said than done when it is your mom.
