oh, man

Not posted in the person's journal whose entry inspired it, but it's no
secret I feel this way, so I'm not locking it:

If your reaction to being ill, and having your medication give you the
side effect of no appetite, is to be happy you're losing weight, *and to
hope it continues*, there is something wrong. This is not healthy. This
is not good.

I don't flirt with the students; that would be wrong. Still, it's tempting sometimes.

stonebender's coming to have lunch with me! (Well, to sit with
me while I have lunch; he's not hungry. Still, yay!)

I'm not freaking out at this point, but my mom's in the hospital with sick
sinus syndrome. They're taking her to the Kaiser emergency room. She
may need a pacemaker. I'll know more later. My sister is really doing a
great job -- she can pull it together in an emergency. My aunt (my mom's
sister and lifelong best friend) is totally freaking, but I think i calmed
her down.

Mom update

Thanks to all for your good wishes. They're keeping mom overnight. She's stabilized, and if nothing occurs in the night, they'll send her home with a 30-day event monitor. So far, since they sent her to the bigger hospital, nothing has happened (though they did see some episodes at the smaller place), so they are gonna keep an eye on her and decide what to do with her in the morning. Two of my siblings are local to her and are taking turns being at the hospital.

So all is well, relatively speaking, and I do appreciate all the wishes and hopes and prayers and stuff. Thank you.
