Dec. 20th, 2006 08:00 pmOn a break from doing the first pass on my project. This is my second break this evening -- the first was for an earthquake.
mactavish, thank you so much for the "Did you feel it?" site. It's the first thing I do after the shaking stops.
Today was lovely. My prescription for stress-free shopping in late December is to get you a cute boy and go to independent bookstores. Trust me, you won't have to fight crowds, and if you pick independent bookstores near public transportation, you won't have to fight traffic, either. And you'll get nifty recommendations.
Oh, and speaking of bookstores, I totally scored. I got Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World for less than half price! I feel some guilt when I buy books at discount prices, but I think Isa would approve. She's just that punk. And hey, looks like there'll be vegan cupcakes at Serene's house from now on.
Dinner was good, if silly. I'll probably post about it over on
serenecooking.
Back to work in a few. I have so much working energy in the evening; this may be the number-one plus to the working-at-home thing.

Date: 2006-12-21 05:22 pm (UTC)I missed the "cute boy" the first time I read your post. Thank you Buttercup. And thanks for the help with my last-minute xmas shopping. Even though we couldn't find the right Chet Gecko books *or* a copy of Have Spacesuit, Will Travel. :(
