I am thankful...

...for everyone who ever suffered or died so that I could be free and happy and rich in both material and non-material ways.

...for my partners, who smile when I walk in the room, and who make me happier than I've ever been.

...for my friends and chosen family, who boost me when I'm down, make my house a home, and let me know that I always have a place in their lives.

...for my mom, who is steadfast and fierce in her love for me. I miss you, mom.

...for the Munchkins, who are the first people besides my birth family that I ever truly loved.

...for my exes, who taught me invaluable things about what I want in life and who I want to be.

...for this apartment, this neighborhood, this fabulous and quirky life that we've made for ourselves. I mean it -- I sometimes want to burst from the happiness.

Thanks to all of you who have been there for me in this corner of the ether. I am thankful for you, and I hope that this day and the days to come bring you loads to be thankful for.

For the first time in years, I bought something on Buy-Nothing Day.
But it was a tampon from a vending machine, and it cost a quarter, so I don't feel too bad.
