(no subject)

What a hell of a week. Mom's cancer scare (she's fine); stressy work week (not bad, just rushed/stressy); issues with my meds; tax audit; sogwife's move; furlough coming up; etc., etc., but you know? I can't help being happy. Some of the reasons:

Banana pancakes and baked eggs with asparagus and onions for breakfast.

A decision about whether or not to accept free money to go hang out with dykes in bathing suits.

The grandboss comes by especially to tell me how valuable I am, and how much she doesn't take me for granted.

A Sunday in which to finish up the housecleaning that we've spent a week and a half on. We're almost done, and every time I awaken to a clean kitchen, it adds so much joy to my life.

A family full of wonderful people who love me.

So stuff is hard, but I can't feel too bad about it, because, as always, the joy makes itself known.

Totally forgot an appointment with a friend that I was really looking forward to today, and I am cringeing with self-reproach over it. I mean, I often cancel on people when I run out of energy, but I don't just *bail* on them. Bleah.

Other than that, pretty good day. Freecycling a HUGE mess of clutter; someotherguy has been a cleaning maniac*; I am awaking every day to a clean kitchen and a getting-close-to-really-clean house. Bread dough is rising; dinner is slow-cooking; IRS is being studiously ignored. Life is good.



*He was also being a cleaning maniac yesterday, when he accidentally dropped and broke a tub of homemade laundry soap on the floor. My homemade laundry soap looks like, well, spooge. He said "It looks like the aftermath of the worlds largest bukkake party." But he made lemonade from lemons and mopped our enormous linoleum floor with the stuff. The thing's never looked so good.
