Seriously...

loracs and
stonebender are the BEST. They took us to Ikea in their ailing van so we could spend employee-discount-day bucks on trashy meatballs and the following:
pantry (Ours is white, and yes, I know it's technically a wardrobe, but it's perfect for what we wanted.)
five bookcases
four teacup/saucer sets
spiced cider for t-day
three DVD racks
magazine rack
bedsheets, towels, shower curtain, and plant saucers for
sogwife
Swedish fishes!
more of our square plates
two spatulas
the most bee-yoo-tee-full duvet-cover set ever
I think that's all, but it might not be. I think this may be the first time I've shopped with those two and outspent them. ;-) (I believe our total was around three times theirs. Oy.) And I think
stonebender and I were neck-and-neck earlier today when we went bookshop-crawling, because my one book cost $20, a rare splurge for me.
Seriously, the most money I've spent in a very long time. On lots of stuff we've been putting off. It feels weird, but it feels good. We saved up for weeks, and I'm so glad we did. It will make things so much easier to have enough storage space in this place. Yay!

Date: 2005-11-16 07:21 am (UTC)The pantry looks good. I saw this segment a few nights ago on a DIY show where they tore up sheet music, glued it to this table and then put shellac on it. You said white wasn't your favorite color, so what if you glue food pictures from cookbooks all over it. Not your cool new book you just got, but I bet you could find cheap used cookbooks. I may even have one or two I wouldn't mind donating to the cause. They used a yellowish shellac to give it an old feel. You could go either way. Just saying
Yeah, you out spent us tonight, but if we had found dining room chairs we liked . . . we would have had to make TWO trips!
