It was wonderful having
kevinkjr here. He's so enthusiastic about everything, and he finds a lot of the same things about our neighborhood charming that we do. I loved having him as a walking partner for a few days. It was lovely introducing him to the Berkeley Bowl, the Free Speech plaza, tie-dye, tofu scramble, and Ethiopian and Thai foods (though the Thai place made stuff much sweeter than usual, for some odd reason). It was delightful having him meet my friends, and having him be okay with the directions our conversations often take (hint: buttsex). It was even fun dragging my ass out to the city (thanks so much,
loracs, for making that the lowest-stress trip possible!). He's a darling man, and I'm glad we got to host him for his first trip to California.
And now it's a good thing that the only things I have scheduled for the next three days are work and sleep, because even though I slept for a few hours after returning from the early-morning trip to drop him at the airport, I'm completely drained and in need of some downtime.
