Save this date!

Within a day of each other, dryadgrl and I are having big birthdays. So save September 17th -- we're gonna party hard (kid-friendly style) somewhere in or near Oakland. Details will follow, but mark your busy calendars now. :-) This is intended to be a Big Fun Shindig(tm), so the more the merrier, and now you have six weeks to plan your travel if you're coming from afar to worship us, the two Birthday Goddesses. ;-)

I will be 39. dryadgrl will be a lot younger than that, but she can tell how much if she wants. And let me just say that she has been so very sweet to me today, when I was having a really rough time. I appreciate the extra effort she took to check in on me. (Thanks, too, to lcohen for similar lovingkindness.)

It's been a relatively hard summer. Too much work, not enough time or money, and hard stuff happening in my family (local and non). Still. Very happy. It's probably against some rule somewhere, but fuck 'em.
